Where is Seven Seas Beach?
Seven Seas Beach (Playa Seven Seas) is in Fajardo, on Puerto Rico’s northeast coast, about an hour’s drive from San Juan. It’s easily accessible, with a car park nearby and facilities like picnic areas and food vendors. The beach is in a decent-sized town, not some remote spot, so you can drive right up to it.
Is Seven Seas Beach Nice?
Absolutely! Seven Seas is the perfect beach for a relaxing or social beach day. It’s a picturesque crescent-shaped beach with soft golden sand and beautiful waters. It actually gets the name Seven Seas Beach from the different shades of blue in the water.
The shore is lined with huge almond and palm trees, meaning there is a natural canopy creating plenty of shaded areas, so you don’t have to lay in the sun all day. There are food and drinks vendors around and picnic areas too. It really do have everything.
Another important thing to note is Seven Seas Beach has been given Blue Flag status, meaning it meets high standards for cleanliness, water quality and facilities.

Can You Snorkel at Seven Seas Beach?
Yes, Seven Seas Beach offers decent spots for snorkelling, especially for beginners. On the far right of the beach, there’s a tiny reef inhabited by various fish. Before reaching the reef, you’ll encounter a sea-grass area, where you’ll find lots of different marine life.
To the far left, near the “end of beach” sign, shallow waters with coral formations offer another snorkelling spot. Though not world-class, this area is perfect if you’re wanting to practice your snorkelling
What Facilities Are at Seven Seas Beach?
The beach boasts a range of facilities making it the perfect spot if you’re craving a beach day in Fajardo!
Operational restrooms, showers with private stalls, and picnic shelters are available. Also, if you’re feeling a bit adventurous and like the outdoors, there is a camping area close to the beach too. Added security in the form of lifeguards (usually present from 9:00am to 5:00pm) and occasional local police patrols ensure a safe environment.
The public bathing area is officially open from 8:30am to 5pm, but as all beaches in Puerto Rico are public, the beach can be accessed any time of day.

- Restrooms: $1.00
- Showers: $1.00
- Camping: $10 per person, per night (2-night minimum)
- Lifeguards on duty 9 am – 5 pm
- Beach bars with drinks and snacks
In addition to these basic facilities, there are a couple of beach bars offering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as some snacks. Alternatively, you can take a short walk over to the street where there is a selection of bars, restaurants, and a few shops.
Important Note About Parking
Some reviews say you can park for free on the road or opposite the parking lot. While some people do get away with this, most people end up with a ticket and have to pay a fine. If you’re going to be at Seven Sea Beach for a few hours, just suck it up and pay the $5 – it’s not worth the risk.
Does Seven Seas Beach Get Busy?
Seven Seas is a popular beach with locals and tourists, and once you experience it, you’ll understand why. During the tourist high season, especially at the weekend, Seven Seas does become busy. However, this adds to the atmosphere. And, because it is quite big, you’ll be able to grab a spot, perhaps not right by the water though.
If a quieter beach is what you’re looking for, either visit during the week or take a stroll down to Playa Escondida or Playa Colora.

Getting to Playa Escondida and Playa Colora from Seven Seas Beach
Whilst Seven Seas Beach is a gem in its own right, the nearby Playa Escondida and Playa Colora are also worth a visit. To reach these beaches, you must head to the far end of Seven Seas Beach and follow a trail through the mangrove forest. We highly recommend exploring all three of these beaches in one day. Although they’re incredibly close to one another, you’ll have a completely different experience at each.
The only way to access Playa Escondida and Playa Colora is via the trail from Seven Seas Beach.
