Who doesn’t love a good sunset? There’s something about the way the sky changes as day turns to night that just feels calming and makes you appreciate the moment. If you’re anything like us, we do everything we can to see as many sunsets as possible. Whether we’ve had a good or bad day, there’s a sense of closure and a reset as the sun falls out of the sky. Well, as you’d imagine, there are some pretty epic Nusa Lembongan sunset spots. The island might be small, and you probably won’t have time to see them all, but we’ve picked out our 10 top favourites, from lively beaches to hidden gems you might have all to yourself.
Top 9 Best Nusa Lembongan Sunset Spots
1. Dead Pool
Let’s start with a secluded Nusa Lembongan sunset spot. On the southwest of the island, in a sparsely populated area, you’ll find a coastline of jagged cliffs, rock pools and crashing waves. Much of the cliff-top is undeveloped, making it a great area for a quiet sunset with no one else around.
Along this cliff, there are a few spots you could stop, but Dead Pool is the most impressive. This is a natural pool formed by the power of the giant crashing waves beneath the cliff. It takes a bit of effort to find the place but just head to the Google Maps pin. At some point, you’ll have to leave your vehicle and walk the final bit of the journey. You’ll go through a small grassy area and along the rocks that form the top of the cliff (they can be sharp, and it will be easy to roll your ankle, so be careful).
The view is 100% worth it though. You’ll have Dead Pool, the crashing waves beneath you and unobstructed views of the Nusa Lembongan sunset.
Warning: This isn’t a pool for swimming. It would be incredibly dangerous.
2. Dream Point Tree – Nusa Ceningan
You’ve got two options at Dream Point Tree for watching sunset. You can watch from the tree and the area surrounding it (which is free), or you can take it in from the infinity pool at the bar next door, Twilight Bar.
We chose the tree because we had dinner plans elsewhere, and there is a swing here too, which is an incredibly peaceful place to sit as you watch the sun go down.
Yes, this spot isn’t technically a Nusa Lembongan sunset, but it is just across the bridge in Nusa Ceningan. So, if you’re exploring Ceningan for the day, this is one of a few good spots to stop for sunset. You can find the location pin here.

3. Sea Breeze Cafe – Nusa Ceningan
This is another Nusa Lembongan sunset spot that is actually in Nusa Ceningan, but we promise it’s worth it. Sea Breeze Cafe is a cool and quirky bar and restaurant that sits right on the channel between Lembongan and Ceningan, overlooking the seaweed farms (the farmers are often bringing in the day’s harvest around sunset) and looking back west. Depending on the time of year, you might see the sun drop into the ocean, but if not, you’ll see it fall behind the hills of Lembongan and begin to illuminate the sky.
If you’re someone who prefers to watch sunset with a drink in hand followed by an early dinner, then we can 100% recommend Sea Breeze Cafe. Even though it’s not technically on the beach, it has a chilled beach bar vibe, and the decor is very original, with swings, cabanas and hammocks creating a cosy atmosphere.
4. Devil’s Tears
Devil’s Tears is one of the most popular things to do in Nusa Lembongan. During the day, it gets incredibly busy with day-trippers eager to see and hear the crashing waves. However, it usually quietens down in the evening, making it a much more enjoyable experience. Yes, it will still be busier than some of the other Nusa Lembongan sunset spots, but that is expected because of the popularity but we still think it’s worth it.
It’s like a busier version of Dead Pool, but the crashing waves are definitely more impressive here. The only way to describe what we experienced is if you imagine a dragon blowing smoke out of its nose – that’s what Devil’s Tears looks and sounds like as the waves crash around the rocks and explode into the air.

5. Jungut Batu Beach
Jungut Batu Beach is the most popular beach on the island. This lengthy stretch of sand is backed by plenty of the best beach clubs, bars and restaurants in Nusa Lembongan, and because it’s so long, there are plenty of quiet spots.
We’ve put this on the best Nusa Lembongan sunset spots because there’s something for everyone. You could take a swim and paddle around while the sun sets, join a snorkelling tour, enjoy it with a drink in hand in a deck chair on the beach, dip in one of the beachfront pools or dine at one of the many restaurants.
As you look out to the ocean, you’ll see the sunset over Bali – it really is a beautiful spot. And it’s convenient because you can walk to most of the best restaurants in Nusa Lembongan from here. We particularly enjoyed watching sunset and having dinner at Ombak Cafe – they set up a giant cinema screen on the beach after the sun went down too.
6. Mahana Point – Nusa Ceningan
Mahana Point is probably the most famous surfing and cliff-jumping spot in Nusa Ceningan (we promise this is the last of the Nusa Lembongan sunset spots on Nusa Ceningan). Sitting on the southwest of the island, Mahana Point is a super chill, shoes-off kind of bar that is ideal for finishing the day in a relaxing way (unless you want to surf or cliff-jump that is).
If you’ve been to Nusa Penida, you’ll know that these islands are known for these dramatic cliffs. Well, perched on top of the cliff here, you’ll be able to see surfers riding the waves below you, and there might even be a few people braving the 5m and 10m jumps. From what we’ve seen, the food isn’t amazing here, so perhaps make dinner plans elsewhere, but it’s one of the more unique and lively spots for sunset, so definitely recommend it.

7. Sandy Bay Beach Club
Located on one of the quietest and most beautiful beaches in Nusa Lembongan, Sandy Bay Beach Club is an epic sunset spot. Although the ocean isn’t swimmable here, Sandy Bay Beach Club has an elevated infinity pool that overlooks the beach. From here, you’ll see the cliffs that flank either side of the bay and the rock formations that line the shore. As the sun goes down, this creates a jaw-dropping backdrop which contrasts with the colours of the sky.
We think this is one of the best Nusa Lembongan sunset spots for people who are looking for something a bit more upmarket. It’s a great spot to grab a cocktail or dinner, but the prices are closer to what you’d experience back home than in local spots in Bali. And, you can even stay here, in very aesthetic beach shacks!
8. Mushroom Bay Beach
Mushroom Bay Beach is considered the most protected bay on the island, making it a great spot for a sunset swim. Here, you’ll spot plenty of small local fishing boats in the water, and the sand is often lined with bean bags as the bars try to draw the sunset seekers.
Honestly, if high tide happens to be around sunset, then Mushroom Bay Beach probably isn’t the best choice for sunset. The sand gets almost covered by the waves, and there will be no opportunity to swim or chill out on one of those bean bags.
9. Cloudland Bar
Cloudland Bar is everything we imagined a Nusa Lembongan sunset spot would be. Having spent a few months in Uluwatu, we were accustomed to cliff-top bars with bean bags and alfresco seating areas – then we stumbled upon Cloudland Bar and felt like we were back in Uluwatu.
This place is incredibly quiet throughout the day because it’s become known for its epic sunsets, so most people save visiting here until then. However, don’t come too early because it gets super hot up here. Our advice would be to get here around 15-30 minutes before sunset. There is plenty of seating around, so you shouldn’t struggle to find a spot.
Also, we haven’t eaten here, so can’t give you any reviews on that, but the drinks were cold, and the views were epic.
Which beach is best for sunset in Nusa Lembongan?
We think Jungut Batu Beach is the best beach for sunset in Nusa Lembongan. The water is calm enough for swimming, the tide is never up too high, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants to grab drinks or dinner. It’s also conveniently backed by the street with the best restaurants and bars on the island.
How long should you spend in Nusa Lembongan?
You could easily spend an entire two-week vacation in Nusa Lembongan. However, if you want to travel around a little, we recommend 3 – 5 days on this little island. Although it’s small, there are so many amazing things to do and places to eat. And, the longer you stay, the more of these epic Nusa Lembongan sunset spots you’ll be able to see.

⛴️ You need to get a ferry to get to Nusa Lembongan from other islands, like Bali or Nusa Penida. And we highly recommended to book your ferry tickets at least 2-3 days in advance as they fill up. We used 12go.Asia to check the ferry times and book tickets.
